How Did We Get Here?
Adultery doesn't begin with adultery. Addiction doesn't begin with abusing the substance. Sinning doesn't begin with committing the sin. It starts earlier. It starts in our minds and hearts, it starts in little moments that pull us off track.
The Lamenter in Lamentations 1:8-9 pinpoints the moment where Jerusalem started going off track by saying:
"She did not consider her future"
It all started with Jerusalem failing to see her future -- who God was calling her to be -- and she started to settle for something else. This was a Sunday about remembering our future as a way to stay on course.
