Today’s reflection will be called: Overflow
I have a dream for Canyon Creek. It’s a dream that wakes me up in the morning, it helps me persevere when times get tough, it is on my mind when I go for coffee with someone, it is the thing I picture when I look out onto the congregation every Sunday.
What is that dream?
To see all people in our church be filled to all the fullness of God.
Overflowing with love
with gratitude
with grace

We would become a church so full of God’s love it overflows into the streets and work places and neighborhoods.
This is my prayer for you.
That you experience the fullness of God through Christ.
To my surprise, this was also the exact prayer of Paul for the church of Colosse. It is put more beautifully here than I could ever right.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces[a] of this world rather than on Christ.
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness.
This is my prayer for you Canyon Creek. May you find your roots in this love. May you experience the fullness of God in Christ. May you not get torn away or deceived into thinking there is any other way to live.
May you overflow.
