Reading Through The New Testament in 2016 - December 15th, 2016 - Revelations 11
The big question in interpreting Revelation is whether or not he is talking about a future time, or he is using coded language and talking about events that were happening currently.
Or, there’s both.
To be honest it’s hard to know! One thing I do know after reading this chapter and reading through this letter is that no matter how bad things get, God wins in the end.
In this chapter we read about two witnesses who share their testimony and are killed and have their bodies on display for days.

A beast came up from an Abyss and attacked them.
For a time the beast had the upper hand. For a time it looked like the beast had one. For a time it looked like the beast had more power.
Until the breath of life entered them and they rose to life and were invited to come up to heaven.
This chapter reminds me that there are times when it looks like there is no hope. There are times when good people die. There are times when it feels like good isn’t winning.
Revelation does tell us that in the end God wins. Love Wins. Hope Wins. Heaven Wins.
Revelation tells us that even when it appears to be the worst, it isn’t the end.
Have you given up hope? Are you staring at death wondering how it will ever be redeemed? Have you lost faith?
Lift up your head.
It’s not the end of the story.
There’s still the breath of life and a voice from heaven.
Don’t give up.
