Summer of Joy 2018

Staying Connected As We Enjoy Summer
We love our summers here at CCCF. You’ll find you may be served breakfast, or we’ll have a service or two (or 5?) outside, our time to worship together becomes more acoustic and intimate, and most of all we want to continue to grow in our love for God and each other. Whether you’re in Calgary for the summer, or enjoying God’s creation in His beautiful mountains, here are a few ways you can stay connected throughout the summer.
Prayer Triads
Want a small group to grow and pray with throughout the summer?
Prayer Triads are a great way to stay connected! The agenda is simple, join a group of 2 or 3, meet anywhere and anytime you like and go through these questions: How are you really? What is God saying to you today? How can we pray for you? Who is God leading you to? How does God want us to pray for our church and leaders?
For more info and how to sign up check out canyoncreek.ca and click on the banner that says “100 Days of Prayer”.
Giving and Podcasts
Going away for a while this summer? There are two great ways you can stay connected throughout the summer:
Listen online - every week the audio from our sermon portion of the service will be uploaded to listen to via your favorite podcast app, our Facebook page, and our website. Go one step further and share your thoughts or questions on Facebook or our website. We would love to chat with you!
Giving - Your continued support throughout the summer is very much needed and appreciated! You can donate on our website via PayPal, make a lump sum donation before you go, or set-up an automatic withdrawal throughout the summer (contact the church office at canyoncreek.churchoffice@gmail.com for further information).
Summer Themes
Right now we’re in the midst of a series called “God Is In This Song”. Each Sunday we engage the scriptures through a song that is particularly meaningful to me in my faith.

In July, we’ll be starting a new series, called “What God Can Do With Broken Walls”, which will be a brief study in the book of Nehemiah. I can’t wait to share what God can do when we give Him our brokenness.
Garage Sale Fundraiser!
On Saturday, June 23rd, we will be having a gigantic Garage Sale. The proceeds will go towards hosting the best Chilifest EVER!!! This year’s Chilifest will be held on Saturday, September 29th. Please go through your house and lose some weight! Set aside those things that have been cluttering your life and home and weighing heavily on your mind. It’s amazing how freeing it feels to get rid of STUFF! We would prefer it if you could put a reasonable price on your items, but if you don’t have time to do this, don’t worry about it.
Please bring your items to the church on Friday, June 22nd, between 7PM and 9PM. The actual sale will start at 9AM on Saturday, the 23rd.
If you would like to help organize and run the sale, that would be AWESOME! Please let Gwynne know.
Upcoming Events
On September 8th, we are planning a night of repentance and reconciliation: a time to worship, pray, and invite God’s healing.
In June, we had a weekend with Dave Jackson (an experienced pastor we’ve enlisted to help us discover a clear direction) where we looked at the events in our past that helped define who we are. Some made us smile and laugh and remember the good things God has done here, some brought up grief and pain as well. The church board and I feel that God wants us to repent of some of our mistakes of our past, and ask for healing for some of the pains. This will be a night to receive from God and not carry the sins of our past into our future. Please make plans to be there, as it will be a meaningful time for us.
