Honest Advent: Unplanned - Everything You Need for Sunday

Hi Everyone! So excited to welcome you all to our first Advent Sunday!

There’s something so alarming about the Christmas story centering around an unplanned pregnancy. All this hope and redemption for the entire world comes with a complete disruption of a young woman’s life. It asks her to say yes to a complete rearrangement of her dreams, and miraculously she says yes. I don’t like disruptions. Do you? Yet, this story shows us that the beauty of God often comes from the places we weren’t expecting at all. Could our redemption, too, come from saying yes to God’s amazing disruptions?

How to Join Us on Sunday at 10:30 am

In-person Sunday School!

We have in-person Sunday School for kids aged 4-12 with our amazing teacher, Alissa! Sunday School will be held after our worship time.

This weekend in Sunday School we’ll be covering another one of the great stories of the Old Testament: David and Goliath. While there could be a lot to unpack in this story, I’m planning to keep it pretty simple: God used a kid to do something great that changed history! All because David trusted that God would keep His word and protect the Israelites, he was able to be brave and go into battle with a giant! I want to encourage kids to be brave this week, and trust that if God leads them to something, He will surely protect them all the way through it.

If you have any questions, or if there is any way that Alissa can support your family in discipling your children at home, please contact her at canyoncreek.churchoffice@gmail.com.

That's all you need to know for this Sunday. May God richly bless you as you worship together this Sunday!

God bless,

Justin
