Honest Advent: Surrogate - Everything You Need for Sunday
I find each Advent that I talk about pregnancy because it is so central to the story of Christmas. However, I will always have a separation from Mary, because I don’t know what it is like to have that intimate connection to the life forming within the womb. Courtney and I have a good friend, named Jessica, who has been around Canyon Creek. She is a surrogate for couples that cannot conceive on their own. She’s got such a tender heart, loves Jesus so much, and is going to share about how loving Jesus through serving these couples has led her to unexpected places. She’s going to share what she’s learned and how it relates to Mary’s journey with Jesus. It’s going to be a special one!
We will also have a COVID-safe Communion with juice boxes and crackers! Zoomers, please have some elements ready so that you can partake at home.

In-person Sunday School!
We have in-person Sunday School for kids aged 4-12 with our amazing teacher, Alissa! Sunday School will be held after our worship time.
This will be our last weekend of Sunday School for 2021! The last thing I wanted to talk about before we move to the stories of Jesus is what happens between the Old and New Testaments. This is something that is hardly ever talked about but is so important to us! Throughout these years, the people waited patiently for Jesus to come, or for God to speak again. This teaches us how to be patient and to wait for the good things God has promised. We’re going to talk about waiting in hope and faith that Jesus is coming. This will wrap up our trust stories before the birth of Jesus at Christmas!
If you have any questions, or if there is any way that Alissa can support your family in discipling your children at home, please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
That's all you need to know for this Sunday. May God richly bless you as you worship together this Sunday!
