Let's Talk about Freedom - Everything You Need for Sunday

Hi Everyone!

This Sunday we’ll take a short break from the book of Matthew to talk about Lent. How do we approach Lent this year? How do you ask a community of people who have already lost so much to give up some more? I feel that tension as your pastor, to call us closer to Christ, to invite us to walk the road Jesus did, but also not burn you out, ask too much, or make you feel discouraged. Believe me, I think and pray about this a lot. So, this Sunday, as freedom has been a topic in our country, let’s talk about the freedom Paul talks about in Galatians 5. What would it mean for us to use our freedom in Christ to serve one another humbly in love? If Paul were to write us a letter right now, what do you think it would say? What would he call us to? Looking forward to a beautiful Lent season where we can come together, love one another, and experience the peace of Christ together!

In-person Sunday School!

We have in-person Sunday School for kids aged 4-12 with our amazing teacher, Alissa! Sunday School will be held after our worship time.

This weekend in Sunday School we'll talk about the parable of the farmer and the seed. As the farmer walks along, he drops seeds across the four different types of land: along the path, among the rocks, among the weeds, and on the fertile ground. In each of these places, the seed had a chance to grow, but only on the fertile ground did it last long enough to yield a crop. This parable is important because it teaches us that an important foundation to grow on is necessary. If our kiddos learn to be rooted on a solid faith foundation now, they will grow to become loving, kind, and faithful people throughout their lives!

If you have any questions, or if there is any way that Alissa can support your family in discipling your children at home, please contact her at canyoncreek.churchoffice@gmail.com.

That's all you need to know for this Sunday. May God richly bless you as we worship together this Sunday!

God bless,

Justin
