The Weeds and the Wheat - Everything You Need for Sunday

Hi Everyone! This Sunday, we get to hear from our Youth Pastor, Erin Clarke! Erin will be sharing with us Jesus’ parables of the weeds and the wheat and what it means to let go and let God take justice for the wrong in the world. But does that mean we no longer care about injustice? That can’t be. Erin will shed some light on the freedom that happens when we don’t become the judges of human beings in the world, but give that to God completely. Really looking forward to it!

In-person Sunday School!

We have in-person Sunday School for kids aged 4-12 with our amazing teacher, Alissa! Sunday School will be held after our worship time.

Here is what Alissa has for this Sunday:

On my first Sunday working at the church, I asked the kids what they wanted to learn this year in Sunday School, what were the big questions they had? One of them asked, “When will God start speaking to me? How do I hear the voice of God?” What a big question! This inspired me to look at the story of God speaking to Samuel, in 1 Samuel 3, with them. In the story, Samuel heard the voice of God as he was falling asleep. No special occasion, not while he was at church, not when he had his hands folded and head bowed and eyes closed. God meets us where we’re at, speaking to us in whatever way He chooses at precisely the moment He wants. Samuel gives us a cool example of how to be attentive to God. "Speak, for I am listening,'’ He says. I’ll be talking about how incredible it is that God wants to talk to us, and I hope to teach the kids to simply be ready to listen whenever He does choose to speak.

If you have any questions, or if there is any way that Alissa can support your family in discipling your children at home, please contact her at canyoncreek.churchoffice@gmail.com.

That's all you need to know for this Sunday. May God richly bless you as you worship together this Sunday!

God bless,

Justin
