When All You Get is Jonah - Everything You Need for Sunday
Hi Everyone!
I just want to thank you all again for being committed to worshipping at CCCF. I’m grateful to those who join us online. There are many of you who are caring for vulnerable people, have jobs where you cannot be overexposed, or just feel more comfortable worshipping from home. To all of you: Thank you! To those of you who come in person, thank you for wearing masks, keeping distanced, and worshipping with us.
We have an awesome Sunday planned. We’re continuing a section of Matthew where Jesus is pretty upset with some religious leaders of the time. This time, they ask him for a sign. Jesus literally just healed someone in front of their eyes, and they still have the nerve to ask Jesus for a sign. Jesus says, “The only sign you’ll get is the sign of Jonah.” What is the sign of Jonah? More importantly, I know some of us could use a sign right now; a sign that God is still on our side, working all of this together. But sometimes we don’t get a sign. How could this exchange sustain us through times when we don’t have any signs from God? Let’s talk about this on Sunday!

God bless,
Justin
