When There's No Signs from Heaven - Everything You Need for Sunday

Hi Everyone!

That was such a meaningful Easter Sunday last weekend. I am so grateful for this church that desires to see more and more of the resurrection in our lives and the communities we live in!

This Sunday we’re diving back into the book of Matthew. Have you ever experienced any signs and wonders? I went through a phase in the early 2000s when I used to watch videos of gold dust and gems appearing in worship services. Crazy right? I have no idea if it really happened, but I really wanted to be a part of something that was so undeniably God, I would never have to feel insecure again! In the story we find Jesus in, He is asked to give the Pharisees and Sadducees a sign to prove He is the messiah to them, and He says there won’t be one except for the sign of Jonah. What do we do when there are no signs? When we’d love God to show us some kind of direction but nothing comes? Let’s talk about it on Sunday!

In-person Sunday School!

We have in-person Sunday School for kids aged 4-12 with our amazing teacher, Alissa! Sunday School will be held after our worship time.

This weekend in Sunday School we are going to talk about how Jesus appears to His disciples on the road to Emmaus! One of the intriguing parts of this story is how the disciples didn’t even recognize Jesus. Yet He came and walked along the road with them and together they discussed what it meant that Jesus had died and pointed them towards believing that He really was resurrected! Still, they didn’t even recognize Him until that sat down for dinner with Him and He broke bread just like He did at the last supper. What a special story for those disciples!

If you have any questions, or if there is any way that Alissa can support your family in discipling your children at home, please contact her at canyoncreek.churchoffice@gmail.com.

That's all you need to know for Easter weekend. May God richly bless you as we worship together this Holy weekend!

God bless,

Justin
