Why Can't We Get Along - All You Need To Know for Sunday
I'm meant to write something about Sunday here, but last night was Bob Boswell's memorial and I just can't seem to think about anything else at the moment. Thank you to all who watched live online. If you weren't able to view it last night, there is a video of the service you can watch here: https://vimeo.com/event/599391/videos/500270445/
Bob's service last night reminded me of what makes church so vital and beautiful. A church was planted so many years ago, a building was bought, doors were opened, and people come and people go. Yet, in the gathering of these people God inhabits our presence with His presence. He shows us who He is through us and He teaches us how to forgive like He does when we all fail to do so. Sometimes it isn't until one of us leaves this earth and enters heaven that we truly realize how important these relationships in the church are. The seemingly little moments -- you know, like cards, prayers, gifts, listening, smiling, etc. -- don't feel like much at the time, but they leave a legacy. Bob's service last night reminds me how much the little things that we do in a church are actually the important things. Don't stop sharing your smiles, your notes, your prayers, your gifts, your heart with each other. You never know who might need it, and who might remember it for the rest of their lives. The church really is a beautiful bride, and I'm grateful for all the impressions of God you leave with me.
