Zoe - Everything You Need for Sunday

Hi Everyone!

Get behind me Satan! Maybe you’ve heard that line before? Jesus says it to Peter. As we’ve been going through Matthew together, it’s amazing to see this in context. This happens right after Peter is called “The Rock”, is given the keys to the kingdom, and told the church will be built on him and his proclamation. In the next paragraph, he makes a blunder so serious that Jesus calls his statement Satan. Haha! Isn’t that life though? Sometimes we get it, we’re on it, we’re capable of carrying on the ministry, and we can see the goodness of Christ in the here and now. Other times, we just miss the point so severely! That’s the church though, isn’t it? The body of Christ in the world, and also capable of missing the point so badly that we cause so much destruction. So, how did Peter miss the point? And is it the same way we miss the point too?

In-person Sunday School!

We have in-person Sunday School for kids aged 4-12 with our amazing teacher, Alissa! Sunday School will be held after our worship time.

This weekend in Sunday School, we are learning about the early church! The disciples that Jesus left in charge had the big job of telling the whole world about what Jesus did and why they believed in God. But the Bible makes it clear that God was the one bringing new believers to them. Even though the disciples faced some persecution over their teachings, they worked together to build the church, serve their community, and teach people about Jesus!

If you have any questions, or if there is any way that Alissa can support your family in discipling your children at home, please contact her at canyoncreek.churchoffice@gmail.com.

God bless,

Justin
